01 - Who we are and what we do
Since we are starting with a fresh new website we thought it best to start with a fresh new blog post. And what better way to start things off than to tell you, the reader, more about who we are and what we do. Lets get started.
Who We Are
Auralith Architecture is a small boutique Architectural firm based out of Portland, Oregon with a satellite office in Little Rock, Arkansas. We specialize in affordable housing, multi-family and Historic rehabilitation projects across the country. We are led by Jeremiah Russell, AIA, NCARB as principal architect and Dana Moore as Construction and Project Manager. Combined Jeremiah and Dana bring almost 40 years worth of experience in professional practice to the firm, and each with varying breadth of experience that makes a very flexible team able to pivot quickly to meet the needs of our clients and projects quickly and efficiently.
Jeremiah began his career in 2004 working for KBJ Architects in Jacksonville, Florida where he gained a wealth of knowledge about Aviation, Ecclesiastic, and Educational design and construction. Over the years he has worked for several award winning firms throughout the East Coast gaining experience in multiple market sectors and honing his skill and talent as a designer and architect before finally settling in Little Rock, Arkansas where, in 2014, he opened his own practice - Rogue Architecture - before taking on his current lead role as Principal Architect for Auralith. His experience in and passion for affordable housing and mixed-use commercial and community development is a driving force of the firm.
Dana began his career in 1995 after earning his Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Oregon and moving to Portland at MC Architects gaining early experience in the multi-family and historic preservation sectors. Over the subsequent years Dana worked for several other architects in the Portland area continuing to refine his skills as a designer, project captain, and construction manager. In 2017 he joined the Auralith team and has been in charge of our Construction Management division since. His passion and dedication to construction and project management is critical to the success of our projects.
What we do
Since inception, Auralith Architecture has focused on two market sectors: Historic Preservation Tax Credit and Low Income Affordable Housing projects. Working with our development partners we have created designs for large scale multi-family rehabilitation projects in New Haven, Connecticut, Lawrence, Massachusetts, and Little Rock, Arkansas. To date we have helped design more than 500 units in these cities and continue to look for opportunities throughout the country.
Currently in Phase 1 construction, our Pac10 Lofts project in Lawrence, Massachusetts is one of our largest. Once complete this project will include 284 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units, support facilities, leasing offices, fitness and children’s spaces and secure onsite parking. The conversion and rehabilitation of this historic mill building also represents a significant investment in the revitalization of a once thriving industrial town and is part of multiple catalysts for future developments already springing up in the area. At the core of our practice is the belief that Architecture has the power to engage, empower, and revitalize communities.
